You didn’t “win” a damn thing if someone refuses to engage you or blocks you. That person has simply realized that they are not obligated to spend their precious time and energy dealing with your shit.
AND, this being said, removing yourself from a conversation in order to preserve your own mental health or stability does not make you less of a person. In fact, it makes you a person who has a good sense of priority. You’re no good to anyone, especially yourself, if you destroy your mental health for the sake of arguing with people.
Esperanza, a teenage girl with acute leukemia living in the Dominican Republic, will die if she doesn’t start chemotherapy treatments as soon as possible. But she’s nine weeks pregnant, and her country banned abortion even in cases where the mother’s life is in danger back in 2010.
And here’s yet another reason it’s stupid to outlaw abortion.
This is what pro-lifers want.
So, how does it feel pro-lifers? How does it feel to know you’ve accomplished this?
Republicans, here is what your radical policies cause. A deadly Catch-22.
Hopefully they will just do the chemo anyways. Her life should be more important than the fetus.
According to a group Fox News calls the Feminist Forum, the girl, her mother, her doctors, and even the Dominican Republic’s health minister are in favor of starting her treatment, regardless of how it will affect the fetus. “The time wasted could mark the difference between life and death for this young woman,” the group said. “What are you waiting for?”
This is why I actually hate pro-fetus people. No, I wont respect their “opinion” because they damn opinion is actually deadly and can have negative consequences. It doesn’t deserve respect (in my eyes).
So instead of that bullshit that is Save the Pearls everyone needs to read Noughts and Crosses which was written by a black woman and actually done right.
I’ve seen the Noughts and Crosses series recommended several times as a much better alternative to Save the Pearls (the second of which I won’t be reading; as it’s clear from reading a few reviews that it’s a pile of racist bullshit.) However, I’ve added the Noughts and Crosses series to my reading list. Because the reviews for it intrigued me.
don’t dismiss people’s feelings/dissatisfaction with them
don’t silence people when they’re talking about the problems in your media, because your enjoyment is not more important than that discussion.
Congratulations, you’ve reached the minimum level of decency for being a person who enjoys things that might be problematic.
I will not be handing you a cookie.
^^^^THIS. I love many t.v. shows, video games, movies, bands/artists, books, anime, etc. that are problematic for one reason or another. I think most everyone does. If we only consumed forms of media that were not problematic in any way whatsoever, we would most likely have no media left. That being said, I usually know why certain things I like are problematic, and I don’t have a problem with people pointing out issues with them.
Politician at door:(blah blah blah)...and my strong commitment to traditional family values, as my wife of 28 years will attest.
Shade's mom:Sir, I don't care if you have orgies every Tuesday night so long as you get your job done.
Shade's mom:Also, if "traditional family values" is a sneaky way of saying "anti-gay marriage stance," you should know that my daughter is bisexual, and if I never get to cry at her wedding because some law you passed made her wedding illegal, I will personally see that your wife of 28 years has a lesbian awakening in time for you to discover the virtues of traditional divorce.
I can just picture Kathrine walking in to his office and just looking at him and being completely speechless.
We have a very small house…she did not have to walk in to hear it. This one one of three takes. And yes, I deleted all the others, so, no, you can’t hear them. Only Katherine gets that privilege.
Wow. Congratulations on actually making me enjoy that song for once. (It usually annoys me). This just made me laugh hysterically. Am I the only one who was reminded of Gollum from LOTR when he got to the chorus?
Every time I think of abortion, it gets to me. It's so sad, how could a human being do such a thing to a defenseless baby. Being able to create a baby is one of God's gift to us. && people take EVERYTHING for granted now a days. They have little hands, and little feets and a tiny little heart, that can't wait to love you. Fuck pro choice, what if your mother would have aborted you! I'm all about Pro life ♥
Abortion is not new. It’s been around since the first procreating animal came into existence.
It’s not even just humans who utilize it, so it’s been around longer than humanity.
Holy fucking shit OP. You’re an idiot.
Oh my. There are SO many things wrong with this post. First of all; zygote, blastocyst, embryo, fetus, not baby. A baby is capable of living outside of a uterus, and therefore cannot be aborted. Second of all, if being able to “create a baby” aka become pregnant is a freaking gift; then it’s a gift I would have adamantly refused if I’d had any choice in the matter. I’m tokophobic. It’s not a gift to me. It’s this horrifying thing that my body is capable of doing that I plan to have rectified as soon as I can find a doctor to permanently sterilize me. Oh…and if my mother had aborted me…I wouldn’t have cared. Because I wouldn’t exist. OP, you wouldn’t have cared if your mother had aborted you either. Because a non-sentient fetus is not capable of caring whether or not it is aborted.
Next time an Anti Choicer tries to tell you that their movement is compassionate or that it actually cares about people, remember how often they appropriate tragedies and undermine the suffering of actual people.
What? WHAT? No………you don’t use innocent people who had their lives taken in a horrible shooting as the poster children for your bullshit pro-fetus agenda. Just goes to show you that anti-choicers don’t give a single crap about any life but the “life” of a embryo/fetus. *Angrily throws things*
